Who we are

Since our founding in November 2004, our mission has been supported entirely by the hard work and dedication of our volunteers. Their commitment to fostering a respectful and dignified environment ensures that every person who visits our pantry feels valued.

New Hope Community Food Pantry is a volunteer-driven, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing emergency food assistance to individuals and families in need. We serve the following ZIP codes on the Northwest Side of Chicago: 60630, 60631, 60646, 60656, and 60706. Located at 6125 W. Foster Ave, Chicago, IL 60630, our pantry is open every Tuesday from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM to distribute food to eligible families. Donations are gratefully accepted on Mondays and Tuesdays between 8:30 AM and 12:00 PM.

  • What services does New Hope Community Food Pantry provide?

    We provide a 5-7 day emergency supply of food to families in need once per month. We also offer services such as blood pressure screenings, SNAP assistance, and free healthcare services through partnerships. Additionally, we distribute school supplies and special items like spring baskets.

  • Who is eligible to receive food from the pantry?

    The pantry serves residents of Chicago's ZIP codes: 60630, 60631, 60646, 60656, 60706, and 60634. If you live outside these areas, we can help direct you to a food pantry closer to your home. Everyone is welcome the first time they visit, regardless of ZIP code.

  • What should I bring for my first visit?

    Please bring a form of identification, such as an ID card or a utility bill that shows your name and address.

  • When can I visit the pantry?

    The pantry is open every Tuesday from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Additionally, we offer a drive-through service on the last Monday of each month from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM.

  • How can I donate?

    We accept monetary donations, nonperishable food items, household goods, and school supplies. Donations can be made online, mailed, or dropped off at the pantry during operating hours.

  • What types of food and items are needed?

    We need unexpired food items like canned goods, cereal, pasta, and peanut butter. Household items such as toiletries, diapers, and hygiene products are also appreciated. For a complete list, visit our "Accepted Donations" page on our website.
